Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday vowed to provide agricultural loans for youth in rural areas.
Addressing the public gathering in Mandi Bahauddin, the former prime minister took a dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, ‘’The long march was staged against Nawaz Sharif during his tenure as the premier. The Chinese president's tour was delayed due to the PTI’s protests.’’
‘’Who were those people who were indulging in such tactics? The protests in Islamabad were staged, and foul language was embraced. The conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif was started after 2013,’’ Shehbaz Sharif maintained.
‘’One of the people said that if they come into power, they will release the political prisoners. I want to tell somebody that no one politician was detained during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure,’’ he said.
He recounted the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, saying, ‘’It was the all-out efforts of Nawaz Sharif that were putting the country on track. A number of new hospitals were established in Punjab. Nawaz Sharif had distributed the laptops to millions of students. ‘’
Shehbaz Sharif had also credited PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for addressing the problems in line with the power outages. ‘’Prior to the PML-N’s government in 2013, parts of the country used to witness the power outages for 20 hours. We had produced 10,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity.’’
‘’Nawaz Sharif had also provided the urea and electricity at cheaper rates. It was Nawaz Sharif who had reached the agreement with China, worth billions of rupees,‘’ he said.
We had ensured to provide better medical facilities and free medicines in Punjab. Danish schools were opened for the needy students.
He bemoaned that the Nawaz Sharif-led government was ousted in 2017.
Recalling the events that transpired on May 9, Shehbaz Sharif said, ‘’The enmity was shown towards the country on May 9.
