Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari met Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam to discuss closer cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in the fields of energy, trade and bilateral relations.
The two sides held detailed talks on strengthening cooperation and expanding economic ties between the neighbouring countries.
The Iranian ambassador said work on the second Pakistan-Iran transmission line would begin soon.
He also said a proposal to expand the existing agreement for the supply of 100 megawatts of electricity to Pakistan was under consideration.
The ambassador said Pakistani energy companies would be invited to attend the upcoming joint commission meeting in Tehran to discuss future cooperation and energy projects.
