US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker said the United States intends to further expand the already strong two-way trade relationship with Pakistan.
She made the remarks during a webinar on cooperation between Pakistan and the US in agricultural technology, which was attended by representatives of American businesses, investors and agricultural producers.
Baker highlighted growing opportunities in the agricultural technology sector and said agriculture remained the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. She said the sector contributed one quarter of the country’s gross domestic product and provided employment to millions of people.
She said greater opportunities for technology and expertise would benefit American companies, while also opening new markets for Pakistan.
Baker said US companies had strong potential to play an effective role in Pakistan’s agriculture sector, while American innovations could help farmers increase productivity.
She added that Pakistan’s agricultural exports to the United States exceeded $1.5 billion in 2025.
A statement issued after the webinar said Pakistani representatives highlighted regulatory and policy changes. The session also reviewed the US Department of Commerce’s Certified Agricultural Technologies Trade Mission for Pakistan.
