The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said on Saturday that the main runway at Islamabad International Airport would not be available during specific hours from July 10 to July 17.
According to the PAA notice, the runway will remain closed daily from 10am to 12 noon and from 3pm to 5pm for routine maintenance work.
Maintenance work includes removal of rubber deposits
The maintenance work will include the removal of rubber deposits collected on the runway due to aircraft operations.
Flights to continue as normal through alternative runway
Flight arrivals and departures will continue as normal through the alternative runway, the PAA said. In case of an emergency or low visibility conditions, the main runway can be made available for operations within 15 minutes, according to the authority.
