Pakistan red-ball head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed has expressed confidence in the national side ahead of the two-match Test series against the West Indies in the Caribbean.
Speaking to the media, Sarfaraz said the team had made excellent preparations for the series. He said the training camp had been under way for the past month and expressed hope that the players would produce a strong performance.

He congratulated Babar Azam on his appointment as captain and said the squad had prepared according to the conditions expected in the West Indies.
Sarfaraz said the team management expected to field a balanced playing XI during the Test series. He added that the players' hard work would bring positive results in the coming days.

He also said Shan Masood had enjoyed a productive training camp and gained valuable experience. Sarfaraz added that Mohammad Rizwan had experienced some fitness concerns but had shown clear improvement.

Separately, the Pakistan's preparations for the West Indies tour continued as the second day's play in the national Test squad's intra-squad warm-up match began late because of a wet outfield.
The coaching staff assigned different targets to players during the practice match. A member of the national squad will address a press conference after the match.
Pakistan are due to leave for the West Indies on July 13, while the first Test is scheduled to begin on July 25.
