Pakistan will be represented by Federal Minister for Development and Planning Ahsan Iqbal at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected prime minister of Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif could not attend the ceremony due to his ongoing two-day official visit to Austria.
An official invitation was extended to Pakistan for the swearing-in ceremony of Bangladesh’s newly elected prime minister. Due to his prior foreign commitments in Austria, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will not be able to attend the event in person.
In his place, Ahsan Iqbal has departed for Dhaka to represent Pakistan at the high-profile ceremony.
Meetings with senior Bangladeshi officials
During his visit to Dhaka, Ahsan Iqbal will not only attend the swearing-in ceremony but will also hold meetings with senior Bangladeshi officials.
The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
Before leaving for Dhaka, Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of deepening friendly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He stated that further strengthening of bilateral ties would pave new paths for development and mutual progress.
“Pakistan is hopeful of promoting cooperation between the two countries,” he said, expressing optimism about future engagement.
Political and economic cooperation
The planning minister highlighted that both nations have bright prospects for advancement in political and economic fields. He noted that closer collaboration could unlock national opportunities for development and prosperity on both sides.
Ahsan Iqbal’s participation in the ceremony is being viewed as a diplomatic gesture aimed at reinforcing goodwill and expanding cooperation between Islamabad and Dhaka.
