Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met a four-member delegation of Turkey’s Agricultural Technologies Cluster, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing its agriculture sector through international collaboration.
The delegation was led by Board Chairman Abdul Qadir Karaguz. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in promoting economic partnership with Turkey, particularly in agriculture and livestock.
He noted that there are significant opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in these sectors, which remain vital to Pakistan’s economy.
The prime minister said his government is determined to modernize Pakistan’s agricultural sector on the lines of Turkey.
He highlighted that nature has blessed Pakistan with numerous agricultural resources, stressing the need to fully harness this potential.
Efforts, he added, are underway to ensure the effective use of modern technology to boost productivity and efficiency.
The prime minister also emphasized that Pakistan and Turkey can jointly play an important role in the global food value chain.
He said closer collaboration could help both countries strengthen food production systems and expand their presence in international markets.
Turkish delegation briefs on modern technology
Abdul Qadir Karaguz briefed the prime minister on the use of modern agricultural technologies aimed at increasing production.
He also expressed his desire to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey in agriculture and livestock, underlining the importance of technology transfer and joint initiatives.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu were also present during the meeting.
Federal Ministers Jam Kamal and Ahad Cheema attended as well, along with Advisors Tariq Fatemi and Haroon Akhtar.
