Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb stressed on Tuesday the effective use of artificial intelligence within the government system, stating that AI is being used to improve transparency, efficiency and the revenue framework.
Addressing the National Artificial Intelligence Workshop in Islamabad, the finance minister said tax reforms include automated systems and faceless processes. He said that reducing human intervention through technology is essential to prevent corruption.
The finance minister said the use of AI has reduced revenue leakages and improved fiscal outcomes. He added that the establishment of a regulatory authority for digital assets is an effort to safeguard the economy. He emphasised that skills development for youth is vital for the digital economy.
The federal finance minister said clear policy direction and a coordinated government strategy are necessary for digital transformation. He added that AI will play a key role in public services, revenue management and climate management.
