The Customs authorities carried out a major operation at Karachi Airport and seized 30-tola gold biscuits and US$4,900 from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Dubai.
According to customs officials, the gold biscuits had been concealed with skill inside mobile phones. Three gold biscuits were recovered, each weighing 10 tola. The total value of the recovered gold and foreign currency stands at Rs15.682 million.
The seized gold and foreign currency have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Customs Act.
