Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s continued aggression against Iran, calling it a serious threat to regional peace and stability, and urged the international community to impose an immediate ceasefire and take action against the aggressor state.
Addressing the weekly media briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan warned that Israel’s attacks on Iran are not only illegal, but risk igniting a wider conflict in the already volatile Middle East.
“This unjustified aggression is a grave violation of international law and a serious threat to the peace, security, and stability of the region and beyond,” he said.
Shafqat Ali Khan demanded that the United Nations and global powers act urgently to hold Israel accountable for its actions. He also reiterated Pakistan’s call to declare the Middle East a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the interest of lasting peace and regional stability.
Commenting on recent international speculation, the spokesperson dismissed any talk of regime change in Iran, stating, “That is purely hypothetical, and Pakistan will not discuss assumptions.”

In response to a question about US President Donald Trump’s remarks that Pakistan understands Iran better, the spokesperson agreed, saying, “Iran is our neighbour and a co-religionist country — we naturally have a deeper understanding of its people and context.”
On the humanitarian front, Khan confirmed that over 3,000 Pakistani nationals, including pilgrims and students, have been safely evacuated from Iran amid escalating tensions. He said the evacuation efforts are ongoing, facilitated by Pakistani consulates in Zahedan and Mashhad, and that repatriation routes include Taftan, Baghdad, and Baku.
Meanwhile, when asked about the high-profile meeting between Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump, the Foreign Office referred reporters to the detailed statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
On a separate note, the spokesperson also addressed issues related to religious tourism, confirming that Pakistan remains open to Sikh pilgrims from India and there is no ban on visits for religious rituals. However, he clarified that no visa applications have been received yet for the upcoming birth anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev. “Pakistan is fully prepared to facilitate Sikh pilgrims and welcomes them with open arms,” he added.

Shafqat Ali Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s full diplomatic support for Iran, stressing the urgent need for dialogue and de-escalation to prevent further deterioration in the region. “Diplomacy must take precedence. Whatever is happening in Iran is critical to our shared future, and we stand by our neighbour in these challenging times,” he said.
On Wednesday evening, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a significant meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The two leaders participated in a luncheon at the Cabinet Room, followed by Field Marshal Munir’s visit to the Oval Office.
The meeting was also attended by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The armed forces' media wing, ISPR, stated that President Trump praised Pakistan's contributions to peace efforts and counterterrorism operations.
During the meeting between Trump and Asim Munir, both leaders agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas including counterterrorism, trade, technology, and mineral development.
