Health experts have warned that overeating meat during Eid-ul-Azha may lead to serious health issues including high blood pressure, indigestion and heart-related problems.
According to medical professionals, while meat provides essential nutrients such as protein, iron and vitamins, consuming it in excess can pose significant health risks. Dr Munawar Khursheed, in-charge of the NICVD Emergency Department, advised the public to enjoy sacrificial meat but with caution and moderation.
"Meat is a rich source of protein, iron and vitamins," said Dr Khursheed. "However, overconsumption may result in elevated blood pressure, indigestion and potentially heart ailments."
Doctors have recommended that people should eat sacrificial meat responsibly, especially those with pre-existing conditions such as hypertension or heart disease.
