A Japanese cosmetics company has developed a new skincare line specifically designed for astronauts.
The line, called Cosmology, was developed by POLA and ANA Holdings, and it includes a face wash and a lotion.
The products were selected by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to be taken to the International Space Station (ISS) next year by astronaut Kimiya Yui.
The Cosmology products were designed with the unique conditions of space in mind. For example, the face wash is waterless and can be wiped away with a cloth, and the lotion is designed to remain in a semi-solid state so that it doesn't scatter in microgravity.
It is the first time that a skincare line has been specifically designed for astronauts, and it could help to improve their well-being during long-duration space missions.
Challenges of space skincare
