The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has de-sealed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad following an order from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The directive came from Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, who instructed the CDA to take immediate action in compliance with the court's decision. In response, CDA's director of building control, Sardar Asif, from Building D Cell, executed the court's orders and de-sealed the premises.
The KP House, which had been sealed due to alleged violations, has now been reopened as per the legal directive.
The IHC had earlier on Thursday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to immediately de-seal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, following a petition from the KP government. Chief Justice Farooq presided over the hearing, emphasizing that the CDA should address any issues of illegal construction in accordance with the law, without creating the impression of targeting anyone.

During the hearing, the CDA's lawyer informed the court that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House had been sealed due to illegal constructions and outstanding dues, with the first notice issued as far back as 2014. However, Chief Justice Farooq reminded the CDA that any such issues should be handled through proper legal channels, urging them to issue notices if needed and allow the provincial government to address the concerns.
"You can manage this according to the law. If there are any irregularities, notice them, and they will handle it," the chief justice remarked. He further advised the CDA not to take any actions that may seem as targeting someone.
On Oct 7, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) completely sealed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House after disclosure of illegal constructions inside, violations of building regulations and the expiration of its lease. The CDA's action was carried out under the supervision of Special Magistrate Sardar Asif and Assistant Commissioner Abdullah.
