In a significant milestone for Pakistan's workforce, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Development has successfully facilitated the departure of the first batch of professionals for overseas employment.

This achievement follows a series of productive and successful visits of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Jawad Sohrab Malik to Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and European countries, leading to a plethora of job opportunities for skilled individuals.

After conducting over 10,000 interviews, 600 candidates were selected for various international job positions. These individuals, hailing from different parts of Pakistan, departed from major airports in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar bound for employment opportunities in Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.

According to Special Assistant Jawad Sohrab Malik, this initiative marks the beginning of a broader effort to create thousands of new job opportunities under 46 additional contracts. He emphasized the high demand for skilled labour in sectors such as construction, health, engineering, IT, hospitality, and finance.

The success of this endeavour can be attributed to the concerted efforts of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, which has been actively engaging with foreign employers since November. Through participation in international conferences, exhibitions, and joint meetings, Pakistan has been able to secure agreements that are expected to reach 100 by the end of the week.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis provided 600 people with the facility to work abroad by signing contracts.

Jawad Sohrab Malik further highlighted that job opportunities abroad are not limited to a particular skill level, as professionals, highly skilled workers, semi-skilled laborers, and unskilled manpower are all finding employment opportunities overseas. Moreover, the focus on sectors such as health, engineering, IT, hospitality, finance, and construction reflects the diverse range of opportunities available to Pakistani workers.

As the first batch of professionals embarks on their journey abroad, there is optimism that this initiative will not only provide economic stability to individuals and their families but also contribute to the overall growth and development of Pakistan's workforce.
