Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Wednesday visited the Jalalpur Pirwala section of the M5 Motorway and directed officials to expedite ongoing development works, including the early completion of a mosque under construction at the service area.
During the visit, the minister reviewed various development projects and instructed authorities to ensure continuous monitoring of the quality of motorway services and facilities.
Accompanied by the Secretary for Communications and the Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA), Aleem Khan inspected the motorway's service and rest areas, including newly constructed washrooms, kitchens and overall cleanliness arrangements.
He stressed that all ongoing development work should be completed at the earliest to provide travellers with modern, comfortable and world-class facilities.
"Passengers should be provided with the best and world-class facilities in the rest areas," the minister said.
Aleem Khan also directed officials to complete the construction of the mosque on an urgent basis to facilitate commuters using the motorway.
The communications minister emphasised that there would be no compromise on the quality of food and beverages available at motorway service areas, directing authorities to maintain high standards for passenger convenience and satisfaction.
He reiterated the government's commitment to improving motorway infrastructure and ensuring quality services for road users across the national highway network.
