Pakistan will host the ninth Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Women’s Ministerial Conference in Islamabad from July 12 to 13.
The delegations from member countries have started arriving in the capital to attend the two-day international conference. The conference will discuss matters related to the social, economic and political empowerment of women in the Muslim world.
Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik, Saba Sadiq, Farah Naz Akbar and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the visiting delegates at the airport.
Law minister to serve as chairman of conference
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar will serve as chairman of the conference. Pakistan, while chairing the ministerial meeting, will reaffirm its commitment to protecting the rights, dignity and empowerment of women across the Muslim world.
OIC moot to review progress on women's development
The conference will review progress on women’s development in different countries and examine national experiences.
OIC member states will also prepare a joint future plan to strengthen cooperation in areas related to women’s development.
