Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) Asim Munir met with Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the deputy ruler of Abu Dhabi and national security adviser of the United Arab Emirates, during an official engagement in Abu Dhabi.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with special emphasis on economic collaboration, investment, and security.
According to ISPR, both sides discussed ways to further deepen ties across multiple sectors. Particular attention was given to expanding economic collaboration and investment opportunities, alongside enhancing security cooperation.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional developments and underscored the importance of continued coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.
Appreciation for UAE’s support to Pakistan
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to the government of the United Arab Emirates for its longstanding investments and sustained support to Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades.
He noted that such support reflects the deep-rooted historical relations between the two brotherly nations. The army chief also commended the constructive role of the UAE leadership in advancing economic and social development in Pakistan.
UAE security linked to Pakistan’s stability
During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir affirmed that the security and stability of the UAE are integral to Pakistan’s own security.
He emphasized that this perspective stems from enduring historical relations and the strong strategic partnership shared by the two countries.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment, he pledged to continue joint efforts to strengthen the partnership across all fields in a way that serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
