At least two people, including a nine-year-old child, were killed and 12 others injured in an explosion near the Merian police station in Bannu, police confirmed.
The blast occurred in the vicinity of the police station, causing panic in the area and leaving several people wounded.
According to police officials, two people lost their lives in the explosion. A nine-year-old child is among the deceased, adding to the tragedy of the incident.
Twelve others sustained injuries and were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The condition of some injured persons is reported to be serious.
Initial report submitted to CPO
Following the explosion, the city police officer (CPO) in Peshawar received an initial report about the incident. Law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area to collect evidence and assess the nature of the blast.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause and target of the explosion. Further details are awaited as police continue their inquiry and gather information from the site.
