An Islamabad court issued on Tuesday non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, in a case concerning the spread of misleading material against state institutions.
Islamabad Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah heard the case. However, due to the accused’s absence, the court ordered that Sohail Afridi be arrested and produced before the court. The next hearing has been scheduled for 21 February.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Sohail Afridi under the Peca Act. The chief minister faces allegations of harming the reputation of state institutions and making misleading accusations.
