Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari vowed on Friday that the prices of kites and string would fall further by this evening as additional supply arrived.
Expressing her thoughts, Azma said: "Lahore has proven itself to be a city of lively hearts. A cultural decision by Maryam Nawaz has won the hearts of the public. Maryam Nawaz has returned people’s happiness in the form of Basant."
Azma maintained: "Today, people from all over Pakistan, including overseas and foreign citizens, have come to Lahore to celebrate Basant. Lahore and the sky have been coloured in the hues of Basant. People should celebrate Basant safely and keep others safe too."
"No motorcyclist should come onto the roads without a safety guard. Police and district administration teams are strictly enforcing the SOPs. People should use kite string with a QR code," said Azma.
She maintained: "Those flying kites from rooftops are also bound to follow the SOPs. The increase in supply has also led to a clear fall in the prices of kite reels and string."
