Pakistan and Libya have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations, during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Libyan Prime Minister Dr Osama Saad Hammad, along with his delegation.
The two sides agreed to promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and Libya. Matters of mutual interest, as well as peace and stability, were discussed in detail. PM Shehbaz expressed his resolve to further strengthen friendly ties with Libya. The Libyan leadership praised Pakistan’s role and showed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation. Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and explore new avenues of cooperation in the future.
Air chief resolves to strengthen professional cooperation with Libyan Air Force
Separately, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reiterated his resolve to further enhance professional cooperation with the Libyan Air Force.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Libyan Armed Forces deputy commander-in-chief, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, visited the Air Headquarters. The Air Chief Marshal, Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, met Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, ISPR said. The meeting included an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest and the regional security situation, the ISPR added.
Field Marshal, IMCTC secretary-general resolve to combat terrorism jointly
Moreover, the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) secretary-general, Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, arrived at the GHQ.
Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, met Major General Mohammed bin Saeed. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest were discussed, said ISPR. Emphasis was laid on regional security and enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism.
A reaffirmation was made of the joint strategy, intelligence sharing and the resolve to fight terrorism and extremism. The Field Marshal praised the IMCTC’s role in strengthening stability and coordinated counter-terrorism measures in the Islamic world.
Major General Mohammed bin Saeed acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism. The IMCTC secretary-general praised the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
