World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga concluded his visit to Khushab on Tuesday after a brief but symbolic stop in the district, where he visited his ancestral home.
Ajay Banga arrived in Khushab earlier in the day and paid a short visit to his ancestral home. He also visited a local gurdwara, where he spent time reflecting on his family roots.
After his visit to ancestral sites, the World Bank president reached the Deputy Commissioner House. A lunch was hosted in his honour by the district administration.
Member of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Asif Bhatti welcomed Ajay Banga by presenting him with a traditional cultural shawl, highlighting local hospitality and respect.
Meeting with district officials
Ajay Banga met senior district officials, including the deputy commissioner and police leadership. District Police Officer Dr Amara Shirazi presented him with a ceremonial token, symbolising goodwill and appreciation for his visit.
Officials briefed him on local development challenges and administrative matters during the interaction.
