Pakistan and United Arab Emirates expressed on Tuesday their resolve to enhance their economic partnership.
President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by a high-level delegation, met today with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during an official visit to the UAE. The leaders discussed ways to deepen the longstanding and fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE.

They reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation and explored new opportunities in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, technology, and people-to-people exchanges, highlighting the potential to expand their economic and strategic partnership.
President Zardari emphasised the importance of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s recent visit to Pakistan and expressed appreciation for the UAE’s continued support in strengthening bilateral ties.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development.
President Zardari’s visit underscores the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE.
The meeting was attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE.
During his visit to the United Arab Emirates, President Asif Ali Zardari held separate meetings with UAE minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and AD Ports Group Managing Director Juma Al Shamisi. Both meetings stressed strengthening bilateral cooperation, promoting tolerance, and enhancing economic partnership.
In the meeting with Minister Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the importance of tolerance, dialogue, inclusivity, and peaceful coexistence was highlighted. President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to tolerance and mutual harmony. He also praised the visionary leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and welcomed the UAE’s national vision of tolerance.
President Zardari also met with Juma Al Shamisi, who commended AD Ports Group’s long-term investment in Pakistan. President Zardari described this investment as a key pillar of economic cooperation. Both sides agreed to expand port infrastructure, increase trade activities aligned with innovation, and enhance digital and customs facilitation.
