Snowfall has stopped in Murree, turning the hill station into a breathtaking winter landscape. As weather conditions improved, authorities began reopening roads, allowing tourists and locals to resume movement under strict monitoring.
After days of heavy snowfall, Murree is now completely covered in a thick white blanket. The scenic beauty of the valley is at its peak, drawing visitors out of hotels to enjoy the winter views.
Locals say the snowfall has transformed Murree into a picture-perfect destination, with snow visible across hills, rooftops, and roads.
Road phased reopening
Heavy snowfall had earlier forced the closure of several roads, disrupting traffic and tourist movement. The district administration confirmed that entry points to Murree have now been partially reopened.

Officials said locals and tourists will be allowed to enter Murree in phases, while heavy machinery continues clearing snow from key routes.
Traffic challenges
Authorities said traffic flow remains difficult due to thick layers of snow on highways. All entry points will be fully opened only after roads are completely cleared to ensure safety.
Citizens have been advised to cooperate with authorities as restoration work continues.
As bright sunshine emerged, the situation began returning to normal. Tourists staying in hotels, who had earlier remained indoors due to fear, came out to visit popular spots.

Some tourists headed toward Jheeka Gali and Kuldana, while others made their way to Mall Road.
Several tourists criticised the local administration, claiming it failed to manage the first major snowfall of the season. Some alleged tourists were stopped unnecessarily to hide administrative shortcomings.
“We had to walk from the toll plaza to reach here,” one tourist said. Another citizen appealed to people not to visit Murree, calling the restrictions extremely strict.
Others insisted that all roads were open and accused authorities of exaggerating conditions.
Travel advisory
According to the Motorway Police, the Murree Expressway has been reopened following weather improvement. However, the Hazara Expressway from Achhariyan to Kaspul remains closed for all types of traffic.
Motorway Police urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in view of prevailing weather conditions.
