The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned of the risk of landslides and avalanches due to rain and snowfall in the parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to details surfaced on Friday, more rain and snowfall are forecast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Sunday night to Tuesday. The PMD said that a new spell of westerly winds is expected from January 25 to 27.
Heavy rain and snowfall are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla and Kohistan. The PDMA has directed district administrations to remain on alert.
Heavy rain is also forecast in Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera and Kohat. The PDMA has expressed concern over possible road closures in Naran, Kaghan, Kalam and Chitral.
