Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met with Jiang Zaidong, where both sides agreed to enhance cooperation at government and business levels to accelerate bilateral trade, particularly in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on identifying concrete opportunities to expand trade in agricultural products between Pakistan and China.
Both sides emphasized the growing importance of agriculture as a key driver of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The minister underscored the need for a multi-pronged strategy to increase Pakistan’s exports to China. He highlighted that coordinated efforts across multiple sectors and institutions are essential to unlocking the full potential of agricultural trade.
Chinese briefing on import regulations
Ambassador Zaidong briefed the Pakistani side on China’s import regulatory framework. He highlighted regulatory requirements and emphasized the importance of agricultural trade in strengthening long-term economic ties between the two countries.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continuous communication and dialogue to maintain positive momentum in bilateral relations.
Officials stressed that regular engagement would help address challenges and ensure steady progress in trade cooperation.
Agricultural investment conference
It was also agreed to further strengthen bilateral trade relations on the occasion of the Pakistan-China Agricultural Investment Conference. The conference was seen as a key platform to connect policymakers, investors, and businesses from both countries.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen Pakistan-China trade relations through enhanced cooperation, policy coordination, and business engagement.
