The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has called for the immediate appointment of opposition leaders in both the National Assembly and the Senate, and has also offered its services in this regard.
According to details that surfaced on Saturday, speaking to media at the Parliament House, JUI-F senior leader and Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said the party was demanding the prompt appointment of opposition leaders in the two houses of parliament.
Haideri said that if the Constitution was to be upheld, parliament must also be run strictly in accordance with it, adding that an opposition leader should be appointed in the National Assembly in place of Omar Ayub.

Referring to recent political developments, Haideri said it appeared that the PTI had placed its support behind Mahmood Khan Achakzai. He said that Achakzai “changes his stance daily, hoping to become opposition leader”.
Haideri maintaind that no final decision had yet been made on appointing Mahmood Khan Achakzai as opposition leader.
