Preparations for Pakistan’s new fiscal year 2026–27 budget have officially begun.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has invited tax proposals in connection with the upcoming budget.
According to the FBR, recommendations for amendments to customs laws have been sought by February 10. In this regard, formal letters have been issued to Chief Collectors and Directors General.
The FBR has directed all field formations to submit their budget-related proposals. These submissions must include the name of the field formation, proposed measures, justification for the suggested amendments, and their possible impact on revenue.
Meanwhile, a Tax Policy Office has also been established within the Ministry of Finance to assist in the preparation of tax proposals. The formulation of the new fiscal year’s budget will be carried out under the supervision of this Tax Policy Office.
