The government has once again extended an offer of political dialogue to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah saying that the “option of talks is still available today” and both sides should sit together to resolve issues.
Rana Sanaullah said the government is ready to engage with PTI if the party is also willing to come forward. He stressed that democracy moves forward through negotiations, not prolonged deadlocks.
The advisor added that although PTI claims it wants dialogue, “those with whom the PTI wants to talk do not want to talk to it.” Despite this, he reiterated that the government’s position remains unchanged: “We are ready for talks — if you are ready too, then come.”
Rana Sanaullah confirmed that political matters were discussed during Uzma Khan’s recent meeting with the PTI founder Imran Khan.
The meeting, according to him, touched on key issues surrounding the ongoing standoff, raising hopes for renewed engagement.
Uzma Khan says Imran in good health at Adiala jail
Earlier, Imran Khan's sister Uzma Khan said on Tuesday that the deposed prime minister remains in good health at the jail.
Speaking to media after meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala jail, Uzma said that his condition was ‘completely fine’ and that he appeared fully recovered. She said Khan told her that he neither spoke to anyone nor received any arranged meetings.
According to sources, prison officials arranged the meeting at the jail’s conference room. Authorities earlier confirmed that the PTI founder’s sister had been allowed access after formal clearance.
Earlier, the jail administration said that she had been informed of the approval and would depart for the jail shortly.
The Rawalpindi City Police Officer inspected the Daghgal checkpoint and reviewed the security arrangements.
Police authorities said additional security personnel were deployed along Adiala Road in anticipation of any possible protest.
