The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in the northern mountainous areas tomorrow, driven by a weak westerly weather system.
The new spell is expected to lower temperatures and maintain foggy and smoggy conditions in the plains.
According to the Met Office, a weak westerly wind wave is likely to affect the northern mountainous regions tonight and tomorrow.
Under its influence, rain and snowfall are expected across Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Officials said the system is mild but sufficient to bring widespread light precipitation in the higher altitudes.
Temperatures expected to fall by up to 3°C
The Met Department has warned that due to rainfall and snowfall, temperatures in the upper parts of the country may drop by up to three degrees over the next few days. Residents in northern areas have been advised to prepare for colder conditions and potential disruptions in routine travel due to snow.
Fog, smog to persist
Despite expected precipitation in the north, the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to continue experiencing fog and smog, the spokesperson added. Morning and evening visibility may remain low, and authorities may issue advisories for commuters.
