Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Chairman Khawaja Salman Rafique ordered the immediate completion of security audits in all schools and directed officials to ensure boundary walls, guard training and the provision of technical equipment.
He issued the instructions while presiding over a key meeting at the Home Department on security arrangements for educational institutions. Secretary Home, Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi, Secretary School Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo and representatives of the relevant departments attended.
The meeting reviewed security measures in detail. Khawaja Salman Rafique said panic buttons must be installed without delay and law-enforcement agencies must work with the administration to strengthen security across all educational institutions.
