According to ISPR, participants of the National Security Workshop–27 (NSW–27) visited Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday, where Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir briefed them on the country’s internal and regional security environment.
The COAS reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering support to federal and provincial governments in safeguarding national stability.
During the interactive session, Field Marshal Munir emphasized the fluid regional environment shaped by geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid threats. He noted that Pakistan continues to face challenges such as externally supported militancy and information-centric warfare.
“The professionalism, resolve, and commitment displayed by our Armed Forces during Marka-e-Haq have enhanced Pakistan’s global stature,” the COAS said, underlining the country’s strategic importance and potential.
Focus on law enforcement and border security
Delegates were updated on ongoing efforts against illegal activities, including crackdowns on smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and organized criminal networks. The COAS highlighted enhanced border control measures and repatriation of illegal foreigners as part of Pakistan’s comprehensive approach to internal security.
He stressed that the territorial integrity, safety, and protection of every Pakistani citizen remain paramount and will not be compromised under any circumstances.
Commitment to govt support and national unity
Concluding the session, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting federal and provincial governments. He emphasized that coordinated national efforts and institutional synergy are crucial for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.
