Fans of the beloved Munna Bhai franchise may finally have something to cheer about, as actor Arshad Warsi has revealed that the third installment is now closer to reality than ever before.
In a recent intervie, Warsi, who immortalized the character of “Circuit” alongside Sanjay Dutt’s “Munna Bhai,” said that director Rajkumar Hirani is “seriously working on” the next chapter.
“Earlier, it was not happening at all, but now it seems like it should happen,” Warsi shared enthusiastically.
Fond memories with Sanjay Dutt
Reflecting on his camaraderie with Sanjay Dutt, Warsi recalled the fun-filled atmosphere on set during the making of Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
“Every day he used to come and ask, ‘Bro, what are we doing today?’ and I would remind him about the scenes,” Warsi said with a laugh, adding that “whatever happened on screen was pure magic.”
The duo’s chemistry became one of Bollywood’s most loved partnerships, blending comedy, emotion, and friendship in a way that defined early 2000s cinema.
Hirani’s perfectionism delays sequel
Director Rajkumar Hirani, known for his meticulous approach to storytelling, has long maintained that he would only begin work on Munna Bhai 3 once he was “200% sure” of the script.
At an event last year, the acclaimed filmmaker hinted at having a “unique idea” for the film but said he wanted to ensure the sequel surpasses the charm and message of its predecessors.
Warsi’s latest remarks, however, suggest that the wait might soon be over.
Beyond the Munna Bhai buzz, Arshad Warsi continues to keep audiences entertained with diverse roles. He is currently earning praise for his performance in Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas on ZEE5.
The actor is also set to appear in Welcome To The Jungle and Dhamaal 4, the latter scheduled for release on Eid 2026.
