Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal accused on Saturday those alleging 'rigging' in the recent Kashmir election of providing a narrative to Pakistan’s hostile country.
Speaking to the media during his visit to the Sports Complex in Narowal, Iqbal said the people had given the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) a heavy mandate in the recent Kashmir election.
The PML-N stalwart thanked Kashmiris and migrants for giving the party a strong mandate, adding that that a new era of development would now begin in AJK.
He also congratulated Pakistan on a historic success. Iqbal said an agreement had been reached among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, adding that the defence agreement among the three countries was not directed against any country but would provide a guarantee for peace in the region.
He said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye had lasting and strong cultural, religious and diplomatic ties. He expressed hope that the agreement would further strengthen efforts for peace in the region.
Iqbal said the PML-N government had saved the economy from destruction and that the Pakistani people had endorsed the party’s politics.
On security, Iqbal said Pakistan’s armed forces were bravely confronting the recent wave of terrorism.
He paid tribute to Captain Hamza Akram and other martyrs for their sacrifices.
Iqbal said the sacrifices of the martyrs were helping defeat those casting hostile eyes on Pakistan.
