PML-N leaders Amir Muqam and Rana Sanaullah addressed a public meeting in Bagh district as the party intensifies its election campaign in Azad Kashmir, with Rana Sanaullah claiming that the PML-N will form the next government with a two-thirds majority.
Rana Sanaullah said the party currently has 30 members after the two-phase assembly election and needs only six more votes to achieve the required majority.
Responding to Bilawal Bhutto, Rana Sanaullah said those who were counting down to the PML-N’s defeat would soon see their calculations change.
He said the PML-N’s strength in the assembly had reached 30 members, including reserved seats, while six additional votes were required for a two-thirds majority.
Rana Sanaullah said four more PML-N candidates would be elected from Poonch and Bagh after two days, taking the party closer to its target. He said the four members would join the assembly on August 10, after which the PML-N would have the numbers needed to form the government.
PML-N govt expected within two to three weeks
Sanaullah predicted that the new PML-N government would be formed in Azad Kashmir within the next two to three weeks. He said the people of Azad Kashmir had placed their trust in the PML-N and its leader Nawaz Sharif.
“The PML-N government has been formed in Azad Kashmir,” Rana Sanaullah said, while expressing confidence that the party would secure a two-thirds majority.
He added that Nawaz Sharif had said one of the elected members would be made prime minister of Azad Kashmir and that a new era of development and progress would begin under the incoming government.
PML-N vows to engage with Action Committee
Rana Sanaullah said the incoming PML-N government would sit down with members of the action committee to resolve their concerns. He described 99% of committee members as patriotic Kashmiris and Pakistanis, saying their issues should be addressed through dialogue.
However, he alleged that a small segment had a different agenda and wanted to divide the people of Kashmir.
“We will thwart those who are dividing the people,” he said, adding that the PML-N would work to make Kashmir and its people successful.
Pakistan-Kashmir ties
Speaking about the relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir, Rana Sanaullah said Kashmiris had made significant sacrifices for the freedom movement and repeatedly raised the slogan, “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours.”
He said Kashmiris enjoyed equal respect and rights across Pakistan and asked which part of the country did not have Kashmiris working or doing business.
Rana Sanaullah claimed that there are 30 times more Kashmiris in Pakistan’s armed forces, adding that Kashmiris had sacrificed their lives while defending Pakistan. He also said Kashmiri brothers had stood alongside Pakistanis in the struggle for justice.
‘Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir’
Rana Sanaullah reiterated the PML-N’s position on the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir.
He said, “Kashmir is Pakistan and Pakistan is Kashmir,” describing Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Pakistan. He also said no power in the world could weaken the relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir.
Rana Sanaullah also said the people of Bagh had made major sacrifices for the freedom movement and praised their contribution to the cause.
Rana Sanaullah said all major development projects completed in Azad Kashmir to date had been carried out during PML-N governments.
He pledged that the incoming government would focus on development and progress and work with the people to address their concerns. He also reiterated that the PML-N would secure a two-thirds majority after the remaining seats were decided.
The public meeting was part of the PML-N’s ongoing election campaign in Azad Kashmir, with Amir Muqam and Rana Sanaullah addressing supporters in Bagh.
Rana Sanaullah said the party’s numbers would become clearer after the remaining four members are elected, insisting that the PML-N was on course to form the next government.
He again challenged those predicting otherwise, saying that their “countdown” and calculations would soon be proven wrong.
