They also assured users that they were working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
This incident occurred against the backdrop of a growing threat of counterfeit MetaMask applications circulating on the internet, leading to the compromise of numerous user accounts.
Notably, even the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, fell victim to such fraudulent apps. In light of this, MetaMask's team emphasized the importance of not trusting suspicious applications in a tweet.
