According to media sources, Muhammad Wajid from New Delhi related the horrifying tale of his son Ishaq, 22, who was mercilessly murdered by a crowd. Ishaq was brutally assaulted, chained to a pole, and accused of taking “Prasad” from a Hindu celebration that was taking place only three blocks from his home in the Indian capital's Sundarnagari neighborhood at approximately 5 am.
The 60-year-old fruit vendor Wajid voiced his sorrow and agony by saying, "My son was killed because he had eaten “Prasad”, and those who killed my son found it offensive that a Muslim touched their prasad." He continued by saying that he frequently got prasad from his Hindu clients and accepted it without difficulty since he saw it as a gift from Almighty Allah.
Ishaq’s sister, Uzma, said that a neighbor had seen her brother laying on the road, scooped him up, and taken him home. He did, however, pass away from his wounds a few hours later.
