Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that winger Vinicius Junior is set to make his return to the squad for the upcoming La Liga match against Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian winger has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury in late August but has recovered ahead of schedule.
Ancelotti stated that Vinicius trained with the team and is in good condition, and the injury is no longer a concern. However, the coach emphasised that the club would not take any risks with the player's fitness. Vinicius may be included on the bench for the Madrid derby, where Real Madrid aims to maintain their 100 percent start to the season.
The Italian coach highlighted the importance of ensuring Vinicius's complete recovery before fielding him in a match. He noted that while Vinicius has regained his fitness, match fitness may still require some time.
Ancelotti also commented on the improved atmosphere surrounding the derby, noting that there has been a shift towards a more respectful and calm environment following incidents of racist chants and effigy displays in previous seasons.
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is confirmed fit for the game, while Dani Carvajal remains sidelined with a leg issue.
