In a further show of support, China has deferred repayment of a $3.7 billion loan, easing Pakistan’s external financial pressure amid ongoing economic reforms. Additionally, under a new agreement with Chinese tech giant Huawei, around 100,000 Pakistanis will be trained in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence and information technology.
These achievements were announced under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with officials crediting his government’s diplomacy for steering Pakistan toward renewed regional relevance and strategic partnerships.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s growing defense exports also marked a significant milestone as Azerbaijan signed a $4.6 billion agreement to acquire 40 JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, co-developed by Pakistan. The deal includes an additional $2 billion in Azerbaijani investment, reinforcing Islamabad’s position as a rising defense exporter.
Separately, Pakistan-Iran trade relations are also on an upward trajectory, with bilateral trade expected to grow from $3 billion to $10 billion in the coming years, driven by renewed border cooperation and energy ties.
