The weekly inflation rose by 0.28% last week, while the annual inflation rate stood at 9.29%.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the report said the prices of 20 essential commodities increased during the week, nine items became cheaper and the prices of 22 items remained unchanged.
The onion prices rose by 10.14%, chicken by 9.19% and gram pulse by 2.43%. Prices of red chilli, tea, wheat flour, ghee and firewood also increased.
Meanwhile, weekly prices fell for tomatoes, bananas, sugar, bread, eggs, potatoes, diesel, petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
On an annual basis, tomato prices were 178% higher, onion prices rose by 85%, wheat flour by 80% and red chilli by 16.37%.
During the past year, mutton prices increased by 16%, beef by 14% and bread by 9%. LPG prices rose by 54%, diesel by 35% and petrol by 26%.
