Priyanka Chopra has announced her next Hollywood project, 'Bluefly', a science fiction action thriller in which she will star alongside Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe.
The actress shared the announcement on Instagram on Thursday, posting a photo from the project with the caption, "On to the next."
Bluefly will be directed by Nimród Antal from a screenplay written by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank.
According to Deadline, the story follows a grieving United Nations translator who is recruited for a covert mission to recover a mysterious aircraft that crashed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As a Special Operations team ventures into militia-controlled territory, they discover the mission is far more dangerous than expected.
The film is being produced by Michael Jefferson, David Frigerio, Deborah Glover, Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier and Vanessa Yao Guo.
Delphine Perrier, Chief Operating Officer of Highland Film Group, described Bluefly as a "heart-pounding" thriller featuring unexpected twists, adding that the filmmakers are excited to introduce the project to audiences worldwide.
Priyanka's husband, singer Nick Jonas, and actor Huma Qureshi reacted to her announcement with supportive messages on social media, while fans welcomed the casting and praised the collaboration with Crowe.
Crowe, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Gladiator, brings additional star power to the project.
Priyanka is also set to return to Indian cinema after an eight-year hiatus with director SS Rajamouli's upcoming film Varanasi, in which she will appear alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Varanasi is scheduled for release in April 2027.
