The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday that the moon for Safar al-Muzaffar 1448 AH had been sighted.
The first day of Safar al-Muzaffar will be observed on Thursday, July 16. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an official notification in this regard.
The decision was announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, after the committee’s meeting.
It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan Meteorological Department said on Monday that the partly cloudy weather was expected in most parts of the country on Wednesday evening. Cloud cover could affect visibility in some areas, although the overall chances of sighting the crescent remain bright.
