Multan Sultans owner Gohar Shah has called for continued backing of Pakistan’s emerging cricketers after Arafat Minhas claimed a record five-wicket haul on his One Day International debut against Australia in Rawalpindi.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Shah said the new generation of players had shown strong potential, discipline and a willingness to learn during his observations over eight weeks in the Pakistan Super League.
He said the players should be supported and protected, particularly in white-ball cricket. Shah named several young cricketers he believes have bright futures, including Maaz Sadaqat, Farhan Yousuf, Ghazi Ghouri, Sameer Minhas, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Sufyan Moqim, Faisal Akram, M Basit, Abdul Subhan, Hamza Zahoor and Ali Shabbir.
Shah said investment in these players would benefit Pakistan cricket, adding that many of them are strong fielders and athletes suited to the demands of the modern game.
