Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the public for the successful organisation of 'safe Basant'.
In her statement, Marriyum said the revival of cultural colours and the return of blue skies over Lahore should be remembered. She said cooperation between responsible leadership and the public had made the impossible possible. The people of Lahore, by celebrating Safe Basant, set a strong example of working together for a shared purpose.
She added that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz worked consistently for two years to clear the air of smoke and led the fight against pollution across all sectors of Punjab. Industries, factories, brick kilns, vehicles, rickshaws, hotel owners, along with the people of Punjab and Lahore, extended full cooperation.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said improved air quality was the result of the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the collective efforts of the people of Punjab.
She said better air quality had restored Lahore’s original identity, adding that under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership and with public support, Punjab would be made an example of progress and success in every sector.
