The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a fresh alert warning of more rain and snowfall across Punjab, including hilly areas, over the next two days.
Authorities say all departments are on 24-hour alert to prevent any emergency situation.
According to PDMA Punjab, rain is predicted in most districts of the province from January 26 to 27. Several major divisions, including Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur, are expected to receive rainfall during this period.
Officials said residents should remain cautious and follow advisories issued by local administrations.
Snowfall expected in Murree, Galiyat
PDMA Punjab warned of snowfall and heavy rain in Murree, Galiyat, and other hilly areas. More rain and snowfall are also predicted in Murree and Galiyat specifically on January 26 and 27.
Tourists visiting these areas have been advised to remain alert and cooperate with the administration.
Roads cleared, situation normal in Murree
DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that snow has been cleared from all roads in Murree. He confirmed that all highways have been opened and the situation in the city is currently normal.
Officials reported that around 5.5 inches of snowfall was recorded last night, bringing the total snowfall in Murree to nearly 20 inches.

Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed said heavy snowfall was also recorded in Bari, where the administration and concerned departments performed their duties with full diligence.
He added that traffic was controlled using the best possible strategy, and officers remained in the field themselves to lead administrative teams.
Authorities on high alert
Despite the clearance of roads, snowfall is still ongoing in Murree, and the administration remains fully alert. Nabeel Javed said the district administration will continue guiding and protecting tourists to avoid any untoward incident.

He urged visitors to cooperate with authorities and avoid unnecessary risks during adverse weather conditions.
