Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a series of high-level engagements in Dubai, focusing on boosting UAE investment in Pakistan and strengthening regional diplomatic coordination.
During his stay in Dubai, Ishaq Dar met the chairman of Etisalat and the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance, Jassem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in key sectors, including investment, trade, and telecommunications.
Both sides reviewed opportunities to increase UAE investment in Pakistan, reflecting shared interest in deepening economic ties.
PTCL, Etisalat issues discussed
Long-standing issues related to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) operations and its future development were discussed in detail. Consultations were also held on Etisalat’s investment and expansion plans in Pakistan.

The meeting agreed on the early resolution of outstanding PTCL-related matters. Ishaq Dar urged immediate settlement of these issues to pave the way for stronger and sustained investment cooperation.
Call from Iranian FM
Separately, Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araqchi during his stay in Dubai. The two leaders discussed the latest regional and global developments in detail.
According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, both sides agreed to continue close consultations and maintain regular contact.
Iran appreciates Pakistan’s stance
Araqchi thanked Pakistan for its strong stance at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva, including voting against and demanding a vote on the resolution concerning Iran.
