The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has decided to replace operational vehicles at airports with electric vehicles in phases.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, the move is termed as an important step towards the promotion of green energy at airports. The authority has opted to introduce modern and environmentally friendly technology in airport operations.
In the first phase, electric vehicles have reached Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi airports. The PAA said all domestic airports would soon receive the new vehicles.
The PAA said that the use of electric vehicles is expected to result in fuel savings and a significant reduction in air pollution.
