Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated Pakistan’s first Asan Khidmat Center in Islamabad, calling it a major step toward improving public service delivery and easing citizens’ access to essential government services.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed gratitude to Ilham Aliyev, saying the idea was inspired by a similar service center he saw during his visit to Baku last year.
“Thank God, the first Asan Khidmat Center has now been established in Pakistan,” the prime minister said, adding that he had been deeply impressed by the efficiency of such centers in Azerbaijan.
Multiple govt services
The prime minister said the Asan Khidmat Center will provide services from key institutions, including NADRA, the Foreign Office, police, Federal Board of Revenue, and other government agencies.
He noted that the facility has been designed as a one-window operation to ensure maximum convenience for the common citizen.
Shehbaz announced that similar Asan Khidmat Centers will soon be established in Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan, with plans to expand the initiative to other parts of the country as well.
He said a “wonderful” center would be set up in Muzaffarabad to serve the people of Azad Kashmir, while Gilgit-Baltistan would also benefit from the initiative.
Staff trained in Azerbaijan
The prime minister revealed that staff members working at the Islamabad center were trained by master trainers in Azerbaijan to ensure high standards of service delivery.
He stressed that good manners, respect, and a service-oriented attitude must be an integral part of the staff’s daily work.
“We have to be ready at all times to serve the people,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that success in governance is not possible without a genuine commitment to public service.
He congratulated the management and staff of the Asan Khidmat Center, praising their efforts in bringing the project to fruition.
