Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has firmly rejected rumours of the imposition of governor’s rule in the province.
Speaking to Samaa TV, he termed reports suggesting the introduction of governor’s rule in the province as categorically false. He stated that no consultation had taken place regarding the matter.
The governor acknowledged that the constitution contains provisions for governor’s rule, but emphasised that neither the prime minister nor the party chairman had discussed the issue with him, and his party had not been consulted. He said that no decision on the matter was under consideration.
He added that he had learned of speculation concerning his replacement through the media and noted that such rumours circulated every few months. He maintained that, if any decision were ever taken, he would abide by his party’s choice.
