A high-level meeting on law and order and security arrangements was held in Quetta, where strict enforcement of Section 144 was ordered.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the session was attended by the deputy commissioners, police officials, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and other concerned officers. The meeting reviewed in detail the overall security situation in Quetta and other districts.
The Commissioner of Quetta Division directed that strict monitoring be maintained of non-local workers engaged in mega projects, while the movement of transport at night should remain limited. He instructed that additional personnel be deployed at checkpoints and that Section 144 be enforced rigorously.
Officials informed the meeting that security measures had been further tightened across all districts. Personnel at checkpoints had been increased, and special protective steps were being taken for large gatherings in educational institutions.
Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Mehrullah Badini, briefed the meeting that data of residents staying in hotels was being collected regularly to ensure timely identification of any suspicious activity.
Commissioner Shahzeb Khan Kakar stated that maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property must remain the top priority of the district administration and law enforcement agencies. He directed continuity in snap-checking, patrolling, and intelligence-based operations, adding that any untoward incident would be dealt with effectively.
